Hello! We are the University of Minnesota (UMN) chapter of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) also known as SASE UMN. My name is Chae Lee, and I am the president of SASE UMN. As an introduction, I’m currently a junior studying Chemical Engineering. I was born in Korea, raised in New Jersey, and came to Minnesota for college. I love to meet new people, listen to music, and make chinese knot bracelets!
SASE UMN was established in 2011 to prepare Asian heritage scientists and engineers to become future leaders. Our chapter does this through bridging the gap between student and company, creating an inclusive environment for our members to connect with one another, providing opportunities for our members to build upon their technical skills, and offering opportunities for our members to give back to their communities.
SASE UMN strives to be a welcoming community, and I hope that you will join us. I’m looking forward to seeing you at our events, in our programs, or studying with me on SASE’s discord. All of the links to our social media/discord can be found at linktr.ee/saseumn. Feel free to reach out to me lee02054@umn.edu if you have any questions or if you just want to be more involved in SASE!
I hope you have a great (virtual) semester!
Sincerely,
Chae Lee
